Sufjan Stevens Taps Das Racist, Deerhoof and More For Christmas Mixtape, ‘Chopped & Scrooged’
Everyone's favorite elf, Sufjan Stevens
In case there was ever any doubt, it's now official: Sufjan Stevens is the unofficial king of holiday cheer. How did he earn such a title, you ask? Well, for starters, he released a massive box set of Christmas songs this year, featuring such heartwarming instant classics as "Justice Delivers Its Death," "Particle Physics" and "How Shall I Fitly Meet Thee." Fun fact: this is not the first time he's done this; 42 other tinsel-wrapped tracks are available here.
And now there's Chopped & Scrooged, which is a — you guessed it! — mixtape featuring such fringe hip-hop artists as Busdriver, Kitty Pryde, the dearly departed Das Racist, and Deerhoof guitarist John Dieterich.
