Alice Russel and Quantic, Look Around the Corner – DJ and world-music curator par excellence Quantic makes a lush, stunning record of Dusty Springfield-esque, smoothly swaying modern soul. RECOMMENDED.
Clark, Iradelphic – A gently mind-blowing little record from Warp records. Benoit Pioulard and Kurt Vile-reminiscent finger-picking one moment, strafing burbles of spacey disco synths the next, the album is held together by a staring-up-at-the-skies wonder. RECOMMENDED.
The Futureheads, Rant– These guys keep tickin'. Their last effort was underrated, I think; they are entering into a nice little autumnal nu-XTC phase lately.
