We blame Kool Keith. For what, you ask? Try the eye-scarring cover for the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album. The mask-swapping MC didn't design it — an award-winning animator did — but he did stop by the studio to work on a song with the band and James Murphy. And as such, we could totally see Dr. Octagon encouraging the Garbage Patch Kids-channeling, CGI-abusing monstrosity before us.

That said, the album trailer below, the two live songs Karen and company performed live over the weekend sound, and the details Karen O shared with Pitchfork this morning sound promising enough to make us declare April 16th Yeah Yeah Yeahs Day... more »

Pulp Share James Murphy Track

Pulp shared a special gift with Sheffield fans this week: the final version of "After You," a long-lost track that was first demoed with James Murphy a decade ago. According to Pitchfork, a mastered recording was wrapped in London last month and shared via Christmas card access codes that were activated on Christmas Eve at midnight.

As for whether Pulp will chase this year's reunion run with a new record or more tour dates, Jarvis Cocker told Q magazine "we haven’t got anything planned after the New Year… we’ll just be cruising off into the sunset. Seems poetic. Not wishing to make a big deal, but we’ve played for a while and it’s been really good, but you can’t keep doing that forever.”
