        Quite possibly the first band to mention post-hardcore, the Smashing Pumpkins, Black Sabbath and Aaron Copland in the same breath as major influences, Survival is what Liturgy frontman Hunter Hunt-Hendrix has been up to in the months since that group suddenly went off the grid. It's not a haphazard side project, however; the songs on Survival's self-titled debut actually stem from the posthumous sessions of a band called Birthday Boyz.
