Polyvinyl has become the latest record label to launch a subscription-only series of 7-inch singles. Set to start in January and limited to just 500 sets, it includes exclusive four-track entries from Cloud Nothings, Mikal Cronin, Porcelain Raft and more, pressed on clear vinyl (with a download code, in case you care about those sorts of things) and featuring art direction by Jason Munn.
"The idea is simple," Polyvinyl explained in a press release, "send a musician a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder and have them record two songs to tape before mailing it to the next musician to do the same. From new tracks to cover songs, or even altered versions of older material, anything was fair game."
