By Andrew Parks, eMusic Contributor"All you're going to have to do is wait for an announcement," Keith Richards tells Rolling Stone in their new issue, referring to the rumored 2013 tour of The Rolling Stones. "It would be dopey to bring things up to this level and say, 'Well, that's that, 50 years, bye-bye.'"
By 'this level', Richards means the band's recent run of anniversary shows in London, Brooklyn and New Jersey, which featured catalogue-skimming set lists and such esteemed onstage guests as the Black Keys, Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen and Mary J. Blige. Since then, talk has turned to a possible Coachella appearance this April, although Mick Jagger was quick to downplay reports that organizers had approached the band.
"I always said that we'd see how this would go, and then we'd think about doing more [shows] — or not" he explains. "At the same time, a gig's a gig. The curtain opens and there you are. I just get the feeling — they're itching at the bit now. This thing wasn't enough."
We shall see. In the meantime, you can read the rest of David Fricke's Rolling Stone piece here, and watch footage of the Stones playing "Paint It Black" below... more »
