Lou Reed Currently Recovering From Life-Saving Liver Transplant

At the risk of making June the-bearer-of-bad-news month, Sharon Jones isn't the only longtime eMusic fav who's facing a long recovery process from a life-saving surgery. According to a story that ran in The Times over the weekend, Lou Reed had a liver transplant in Cleveland last month, one his longtime partner Laurie Anderson called "as serious as it gets."

"I don't think he'll ever totally recover from this," she told the paper, "but he'll certainly be back to doing [things] in a few months. He's already working and doing t'ai chi. I'm very happy. It's a new life for him."
