Chances are, the first thing I'll think is, "Uh oh, I bet it's chillwave," and I'll run far and fast in the other direction. I'm not sure what made me give Youth Lagoon — aka Trevor Powers, an early-20-something from Idaho — a chance, but after the few listens it took me to really get into it, The Year of Hibernation became one of my favorite albums of 2011.
